I was 15, and in a world where Alternative Rock and Ghetto Rap were rampid...I yearned for something different. I started at the beginning, absorbing as many of the classics as I could: Peter Erskine, Dave Weckyl, Jeff Porcaro, Steve Smith, and Bernard “Pretty” Purdie, just to name a few. I’ve come to the point where I consider every sound I’ve ever heard, good and bad, an influence to my music. In that sense I don’t close my self off to any one style of music. I have been in several hard-rock bands, none of which have satisfied my musical goal. While I am comfortable playing all diferent genres, it is a progressively insane, odd-time driven, groove-laden sound that I seek. A sound that speaks on a primordial level.
